Scouts

Scouts are the oldest section that currently meet at Hartshill and the age range is 10 ½ to 14 years.

The Troop consists of small units of, up to, six Scouts called a Patrol, usually led by a Patrol Leader.

Outdoor activities feature prominently, with the highlight being camping. Throughout the year, Scouts learn various skills, such as map reading, camp cooking and first aid in preparation for camp but also have opportunity to focus on other skills such as gardening, model making, team building and leadership.

Other outdoor activities that are enjoyed by the Troop are rock climbing, coracling, kayaking, orienteering, zip lining and paddle boarding to name but a few.

We meet on a Thursday evening between 7.30 – 9pm. If your child would like to join us or you’ve got an interest in helping us out, then please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you!
